OFF TO KIDZANIA!
Last week on Tuesday we went to Kidzania. It's a fun place where you can play. And there was a FAKE fire!
Here are the tickets for Kidzania but in Kidzania the people made them actually look like boarding passes.
Then when went in we saw a fake plane. But it looked really, really real.
I had to give the lady the tickets so we could get in. Then she gave us some bands so we could go to the things.
They also gave us 50 kidzos - Kidzos are fake money you can buy stuff with at Kidzania.
The first thing we did was go to the Job Center and we had to pay 4 WHOLE KIDZOs so we could do a special test so we knew what kind of jobs we might be good at.
This is my Job Card. It tells me about my personality and suggests some things I should try.
DENTIST
The first job we tried was at the dentist.
First we had to wash our hands.
Then the dentist showed us how to brush our teeth properly. I learned that you shouldn't scrub back and forwards on your teeth you should do little circling motions.
Then I got a turn. But I was a bit silly and I thought I should brush my own teeth, but then the dentist told me I should brush the fake teeth.
Next we had to fix our customers cavity. I told the dentist that my Mum once got cavities because she drank too much coke. In this photo Finn is holding the sucker.
One of the other children got out the cavity and I put in the white filling so her tooth didn't hurt.
THE BANK VAULT
Next we went to the bank vault where they keep money and gold safe. The guard showed us how money has special bits on it - like numbers and pictures.
Here he is showing us how you know if money is real or not real. They have to have a specific number and they also have to have a specific picture. This machine has a special light called an ultra violet light. You can see different things with that to check if the money is real or not.
This is a counter moneyer. It counts your money.
Next we had a special job to do. I said "pick me!"
Finny got dressed up as the guard with a walkie-talkie and a bullet-proof vest.
I was the delivery person. I had a helmet and a clipboard and a little, little trolley.
Here we are leaving the vault.
Here I am talking to the guy from the acting studio where we had to pick up a parcel of a gold bar wrapped in cloth. Here I am asking for him to sign the sheet.
Here we are going back. Finny is talking to the vault to let them know we have picked up the parcel.
Now we get paid! We got 8 kidzos for that job.
UNIVERSITY
Next we went to University. If you study at university you can get more money for the jobs you do later. Studying at University cost 2 kidzos. We decided to study Engineering.
First I made a plan of what wanted my bridge to look like.
This is my finished bridge. I didn't quite have time to make it long enough or stiff enough. It didn't work today but later Mum bought some straws so I'm not going to give up I'm going to try and make one at home.
Finnegan's bridge held up 8 weights.
REPORTER
The next job I chose was a reporter. I wanted to make some more money to save, but I didn't want to have to pay money. I got to wear a special vest. Mum told me that Poppa was a reporter when he was grown-up so I bet he will like to hear about this job.
My baby brother Patch also got to wear a vest and write a report. He felt like he was me. It made him feel like he was very, very cool.
First I had to get a story so I went to the ambulance people and they gave me some information about a fire. They told me that someone got a burn on their arms.
Once I had all of my information I had to head back to the Newspaper Office.
Here is my story on the computer. It says: "Fire In Kidzania by Isaac. There was a fire in Kidzania. It started because a man fell asleep whilst cooking. A man got burns on his arms."
Next I got to push the button to make the big, shiny printing press print out my story.
Here I am waiting for my story to come out of the printing press.
Here I am getting paid - again! For my job. I got 8 kidzos again for this job. By then I had lots and lots and lots of kidzos.
That's the end of Part 1. I'll do part 2 soon. Keep a look out on my blog!
