One of the things my teacher suggested I should work on while I'm away is my fine motor skills. So we have found lots of ways to incorporate fine motor into our time in the UK:
Fine Motor Activities
Every day while we were away we practise typing for 15 minutes. I have to keep my fingers on the home keys and stretch them out to reach the others. This is always a good warm-up for fine motor activities.
When we first got to London we didn't have many things to practise fine motor skills with. So we made it a bit fun. Here I am using Mum's tweezers to move raisins and rice crackers in between boxes. When Patchy saw he wanted to copy too, but we didn't have two pairs of tweezers so we had to give him tongs. He was very happy to be doing the same thing as me and being my little "neck minit".
We also had some bottles lying around the house, so I practised twisting the lids on and off with each of my fingers on each of my hands. Some were hard and some were easy because some had smaller and some had bigger lids. Also some were tighter stuck on and some were looser.
I also used the little fish-shaped soy sauce bottles left over from sushi to squeeze up some coloured water and transfer it from one container to another using different fingers.
Mrs Aitken sent us an awesome list of cool fine-motor activities, so I chose some from that that I thought might be fun too.
Here I am threading cereal on a string. The list said to use buttons but I only had Bear Letter cereal so I used that instead. It was awesome because I got to eat them after.
Fine Motor Out and About
We went to lots of place where there were craft activities so I did lots of cutting, sticking, building and colouring.

We also went out for meals sometimes in London.
When we went to an Asian restaurant I practised eating with chopsticks. We even brought the chopsticks home for even more practise.
At a European restaurant Dad showed me how to hold my knife and fork beautifully and I practiced cutting and eating all my food.
