Different Techniques of Photography
Lately I've been really enjoying taking photos of the different things we've done and seen on our trip. Then my Mum found me an article with some tips for taking good photos. Then I tried to use some of these tips to take good photos when we went to places. The first place I used it was at the London Wetland Centre. Then at the London Zoo. Then I decided to write blog post about it and share some of the photos I've taken using the tips. There is a link to the article at the bottom of the post.
1. Framing
This is where you find something in the area that you can use to create a frame.
In this one I used an archway into a sitting area in a garden.
This was out of the door of a replica of a small fishing hut.
In this one I used a wooden gate to frame this picture the wagon wheels.
2 Leading lines
This is where you give depth to the picture and draw the eye into the photo by using things that create lines.
I used the logs as my leading lines.
The bridge creates natural leading lines.
This was off a bridge onto the river. I used the river as my leading lines to the sky.
.
3 Getting Low
This is where you go low to get things from a lower angle.
I took this from close to the ground to get the flower.
This is from off the path to the grass.
In this one I took it of the flower down low off a bridge.
4 Using Foreground
This is where you create a sense of depth by adding interesting objects or landscape close but having the subject far away.
This is a rail over a pond with grass and the rail in the foreground and the lake and trees in the background.
This is using the flowers as foreground but making the sky the main part.
This is using the flowers as the foreground and the bridge as the subject.
This is using the log as foreground and the tiger as the subject.
5 Using Light
In these photos I am trying to us light to make the main subject stand out.
This is the ducks and swan and I have shot it from an angle to have light on the swan to make it stand out.
There is light here onto the goose. (Also by having the goose in the foreground it gives depth to the photo.)
This of the light being projected onto the table.
This is of the light going on the tiger.
6 Symmetry
This is where I have tried to create some kind of symmetry in the photo.
In this picture I have used the reflection of the clouds in the water to create symmetry. Plus the banks mirror each other too.
In this one I've made the banks mirror each other, I've also the flowers and grass in the foreground and the leading line of the river to create depth.
7 Silhouettes
This is where you shoot into the light to have a dark silhouette.
This is a lemur from above me to show a silhouette.
8 Multiple Techniques
In these photos I have used multiple techniques.
Leading lines and using light.
This is getting low and using light.
This is using light and framing.
